The Woodlands® Resort’s waterfront Back Table Kitchen & Bar has appointed culinary veteran Mark Deplasco to the role of chef de cuisine. Chef Mark Deplasco joins Back Table Kitchen & Bar as Chef de Cuisine, bringing Marine-forged discipline, leadership, and a passion for fresh, seasonal cuisine. Trained in the Northeast and a graduate of the San Diego Culinary Institute, Deplasco led a successful farm-to-table kitchen in San Diego before spending five years at the Hyatt Regency Houston as Chef de Cuisine and Banquet Chef, overseeing large-scale operations and elevated dining. At Back Table, he channels an ingredient-driven approach—spotlighting local, seasonal products and refined, comforting flavors—while shaping menus that balance creativity with the welcoming spirit of The Woodlands.
